Many don’t see family and friends right now. Personal video messages can help bridge this unwanted distance. With these five tricks you can create cute short films in an uncomplicated way for everyone you want to watch again.

Make a simple tripod

Being able to record yourself and avoid shaking – a small, self-made tripod helps enormously. This is super easy, for example, with a toilet paper roll, in which you cut a slot at the top into which the mobile phone can be inserted.

Lots and lots of light!

Be sure to bring as much light into your shots as possible. Use existing light sources: During the day it is advisable to use the motif – you! – to record in front of a window. In the evening it is important to experiment with the lamps available at home.

Video recording

Start the video recording in the camera app of your mobile phone (tap on “Video”) and record your messages.

Pro tip: If you want to cut away the first few seconds of a video after the shoot (for example because you moved to where you wanted to be recorded during this time), you can do so using the “Edit” button in the smartphone’s photos app.

Video apps

Using apps, you can easily assemble, save and send films from the pictures and videos that you have shot with your mobile phone. Popular is i.a. “Mojo – Stories Editor” (Apple App Store I Google Play).
